Recap

ukraine.saxony.tech 2026 Recap
ukraine.saxony.tech Business Days 2025 brought Ukrainian technology and industrial companies together with Saxon partners in a closed-door, industry-focused format. Over three days in November 2025, the programme focused on real industrial environments, direct exchange and concrete cooperation paths between both ecosystems.

Key Facts

Industrial Exchange on Factory Floors

A core element of ukraine.saxony.tech 2025 was direct exchange in real industrial environments. Meetings took place not only in discussion settings, but primarily on factory floors, in production halls, logistics areas, testing facilities and development environments.
This setting enabled a realistic assessment of processes, technical requirements, integration logic and scalability. The programme was designed to create operational connectivity rather than symbolic encounters.

Workshops and Structured Cooperation

In addition to company visits, structured workshops addressed concrete cooperation paths in areas such as co-production, applied innovation and industrial development. Discussions focused on technical feasibility, production capacities, standards and timelines.

The workshops complemented the factory-floor visits by translating observations into potential next steps for collaboration.

Ecosystem Exchange and Start-up Perspectives

The programme also included exchange formats with Saxon and regional start-ups, providing entrepreneurial perspectives alongside established industrial structures. Topics included market access, scaling strategies, operational challenges and the specific conditions under which Ukrainian companies currently operate.

Context

Since 2022, economic cooperation between Saxony and Ukraine has been strongly affected by the war. While initial collaboration focused on humanitarian support and critical infrastructure, industrial and technological cooperation is now gradually resuming despite the ongoing challenges.

Against this background, ukraine.saxony.tech 2025 highlighted the strong fit between Ukrainian speed, prototyping capability and digital affinity and Saxon industrial depth, precision and scalability.

Key Takeaways

  • Ukrainian agility in IT, prototyping and production aligns well with Saxon and German industrial precision.
  • Direct, on-site interaction proved more effective than formal frameworks or remote formats.
  • Factory-floor-based exchange enables realistic assessments and concrete cooperation paths.
  • Trust and openness are critical enablers for cross-border industrial collaboration.

Organisation, Funding, and Partners

A SAXONY!visit Programme: Gigahertz Ventures GmbH organised the programme together with Saxony Trade & Invest (Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen).

The programme was co-financed by tax revenues on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon State Parliament. In this context, the contracting authority was the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection (SMWA).

The concept for ukraine.saxony.tech 2025 was initiated by Gigahertz Ventures in 2024, developed jointly with SAXONY!visit and subsequently implemented together. Programme preparation was supported by the Ukraine Desk.
